Summary: Background The Department of the Interior-National Park Service (NPS), ConOps East intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to award a firm fixed price construction contract. The goal of the contract is to replace the existing backflow preventer and water meter at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, ensuring compliance with water management standards and improving infrastructure. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Remove the existing underground backflow preventer and water meter. 2. Abandon the existing utility vault by filling it and covering it with a new concrete slab. 3. Install a new water connection backflow preventer. 4. Coordinate the installation of a new Dare County water meter. 5. Provide a hotbox for both the new backflow preventer and water meter. The contractor must provide all necessary technical support, materials, tools, equipment, and labor required to complete these tasks according to the statement of work.
