Background

Sedgwick County, located in south-central Kansas, is one of the most populous counties in the state with a population exceeding 514,000. The county provides a full range of municipal services including public safety, public works, and animal control. The purpose of this Request for Bid (RFB #26-0061) is to solicit bids for a 3/4 Ton Regular Body Cargo Van to support Sedgwick County Fleet Management and Animal Control.

Work Details

The contract requires the provision of a 3/4 Ton Regular Body Cargo Van with the following specifications: 1. Engine: Gas V8 2. Transmission: Automatic with overdrive and transmission cooler 3. GVW: 8,600 lbs. 4. Wheelbase: 135 inches 5. Steering: Power steering with adjustable steering wheel and cruise control 6. Air Conditioning and Heat: Factory installed front and rear 7. Exterior Color: White 8. Interior: Vinyl or leather – blue or gray 9. Windows: Tinted; sliding door and rear door windows that tilt out 10. Accessories include three sets of keyless entry remote, animal cages equivalent to Mavron, INC AVL – 9 Animal Transportation Units with an 'L Shaped' configuration of nine cages with stainless doors, police lightbar on roof at B pillar, red/blue lights on top rear above rear doors, red and blue lights in each rear window, side entry light over the side door, pull-out step for side entry, and police-style siren.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence following the Board of County Commissioners' approval of the successful bidder(s) after bid opening on July 8, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed in Sedgwick County, Kansas.
