The Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College is seeking bids for an Automated Multi-Degree of Freedom Hybrid Manufacturing System. This system aims to enhance the university's capabilities in advanced manufacturing by integrating subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies. The goal is to procure a fully integrated system that can seamlessly manufacture metal parts using both methods, thereby supporting the university's mission in engineering and technology education.

Work Details

The contract involves providing an Integrated Subtractive and Additive Hybrid Manufacturing System (HMS) that combines a 5-axes CNC Mill/Machining Center sub-system (CNC-M/MCSS) and a coaxial laser-wire Direct Energy Deposition (DED) additive manufacturing sub-system (AMSS). Key specifications include: - The HMS must be fully integrated for seamless programming between subtractive and additive modes. - The Computer Aided Manufacturing software platform must be MASTERCAM. - Bidders must provide evidence of experience in integrating hybrid manufacturing systems, including two examples delivered within the past three years. - Documentation proving certification as an integrator for both CNC-M/MCSS and AMSS is required. - On-site training for LSU personnel on the HMS system must be included in the bid. - Wire spools compatible with AMSS for various materials must be provided, along with a comprehensive warranty on the entire machine.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by June 25, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide documentation proving they are certified integrators for both CNC-M/MCSS and AMSS systems. They must also include evidence of prior successful integration projects, on-site training details, and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding procurement.
