Pathways to Multilingualism Grant

Background

The State of Oregon, through its Department of Education, is issuing the Pathways to Multilingualism Grants to support Oregon school districts in enhancing their Dual Language Education Programs. This initiative aims to improve outcomes for students designated as English Learners and is part of the Oregon Multilingual Learner Strategic Plan published in 2024. The grants are intended to strengthen existing programs and support the development of new dual language programs as well as tribal language revitalization efforts.

Work Details

The grants will provide funding for: 1) Biliteracy professional development and training; 2) Purchasing high-quality instructional materials for implementing biliteracy education; 3) Planning new dual language programs; 4) Expanding existing dual language programs; 5) Strengthening or initiating tribal language revitalization programs. Each grant can be up to $50,000, with a total funding pool of $2,050,000 available for approximately 41 grants.

Period of Performance

The grant funding start date is July 1, 2026, and will expire on June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed within the state of Oregon, specifically targeting public school districts.

Bidder Requirements

To be eligible for a grant under this RFA, applicants must be an Oregon public school district. The proposed project must focus on developing a new Dual Language Education Program or enhancing an existing one. Additionally, applicants must comply with all requirements outlined in the RFA.
