Airplex Commerce Center Sanitary Sewer

Background

The City of Columbus, Indiana is issuing a solicitation for the Airplex Commerce Center Sanitary Sewer project. The goal of this contract is to construct sanitary sewer infrastructure as part of the development at the Airplex Commerce Center. This project is overseen by the Board of Public Works and Safety, which will publicly unseal and read bids on June 23, 2026.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including: - Mobilization/Demobilization

Maintenance of Traffic

- EPSC - Construction Entrance and Street Sweeping

Construction Layout/Engineering

- Verifying locations and elevations of existing sewers - Connecting to existing structures - Installing 15-inch and 12-inch gravity sanitary sewers (1375 LF and 285 LF respectively) - Stubs for sanitary sewers - Lateral installations - Manholes (Type A and Type D) - Finish grading - Seed and straw stabilization - Decommissioning existing pump stations. Specific quantities include: - 1 each for various tasks like construction layout - 1375 LF for 15-inch gravity sewer - 285 LF for 12-inch gravity sewer - Multiple manholes - Additional work related to existing infrastructure.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence promptly after award with a completion deadline set for November 13, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Airplex Commerce Center in Columbus, Indiana.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a notarized Comprehensive Compliance Form (CCF) addressing Affirmative Action requirements, Drug-Free Workplace policies, OSHA regulations, and Employment Eligibility Verification. A bid bond or certified check equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount is required. Successful bidders must also provide a one hundred percent (100%) performance and payment bond upon contract award.
