Building Demolition Services for 17039 Holten Hill St.

Background

The City of Hammond is seeking qualified contractors to provide building demolition services for the removal of improvements and clean-up of a site located at 17039 Holten Hill St., Hammond, Louisiana. The goal of this contract is to ensure the demolition work is conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and codes established by the City of Hammond.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - Demolition and removal of all buildings and structures, including accessory buildings and all trash and debris in or around the structures. - Proper disconnection of utilities (electric and water) before demolition begins. - Sealing all sewers and laterals at the property line with concrete. - Conducting demolition work only between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., excluding legal holidays and inclement weather. - Completing the work within ten (10) calendar days from the date of execution of the notice to proceed. - Obtaining necessary permits for completion of the project. - Implementing safety precautions to protect persons from injury during demolition operations. - Ensuring that no explosives or weighted balls are used during demolition, and that burning of combustible materials is prohibited. - Backfilling excavated areas with suitable material to provide positive surface drainage for the entire site. - Removing trees, trash, and debris while retaining any living trees in good condition with a trunk diameter of six inches or larger.

Period of Performance

The contract work must be completed within ten (10) calendar days from the date of execution of the notice to proceed.

The contract will be performed at 17039 Holten Hill St., Hammond, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements

The successful contractor must possess a valid business license throughout the term of the contract. Proposals are encouraged from Section 3 businesses, Woman Business Enterprises (WBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Small Business Enterprises (SBE), and other Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). Proposers must comply with Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act as well as other federal, state, and local laws affecting employees.
