Background

The City of Hammond is seeking qualified contractors to provide building demolition services for a site located at 1403 Corbin Rd., Hammond, Louisiana. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and compliant removal of improvements and clean-up of the specified site in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and removal of all buildings and structures at the site, including accessory buildings and all debris. Specific tasks include: - Disconnecting utilities (electric and water) - Sealing all sewers and laterals with concrete - Conducting demolition work only between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. - Notifying the City at least 24 hours before starting work - Completing the project within ten calendar days from the Notice to Proceed - Obtaining necessary permits - Ensuring safety precautions are followed - Protecting adjacent properties. The use of explosives or weighted balls for demolition is prohibited. All demolition debris must be transported to a licensed landfill or recycling center, with receipts provided as proof of disposal.

Bidder Requirements

The successful contractor must possess a valid business license throughout the term of the contract. Contractors must maintain property damage and public liability insurance with limits of at least $300,000.
