Background

The City of Hammond is seeking qualified contractors to provide building demolition services for the removal of improvements and clean-up of a site located at 601 Mooney Ave., Hammond, Louisiana. The goal of this contract is to ensure the demolition work is conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and codes established by The City of Hammond.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and removal of all buildings and structures at the site, including accessory buildings and all associated debris. Specific tasks include: - Disconnecting utilities (electric and water) - Sealing sewers at the property line with concrete - Conducting demolition work only between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. - Holding a pre-demolition meeting with city officials - Notifying the city 24 hours prior to commencing work - Completing the project within ten calendar days from notice to proceed - Obtaining necessary permits - Ensuring safety precautions are in place - Handling all waste disposal. The use of explosives or weighted balls for demolition is prohibited. The contractor must also backfill excavated areas, install erosion control measures, and ensure no damage occurs to adjacent properties.
