Building Demolition Services for 608 E Michigan St.

Background

The City of Hammond is seeking competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors to provide building demolition services for the removal of improvements and clean-up of a site located at 608 E Michigan St., Hammond, Louisiana. The goal of this contract is to ensure the demolition work is performed in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and codes.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Demolition and removal of all buildings and structures, including accessory buildings and surrounding debris. 2. Disconnection of utilities (electric and water) prior to demolition. 3. Sealing of all sewers and laterals at the property line with concrete. 4. Conducting demolition work only between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., excluding legal holidays and inclement weather days. 5. Completing the work within ten (10) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date. 6. Obtaining necessary permits for project completion. 7. Implementing safety measures to protect persons and property during demolition operations, including prohibitions on explosives and weighted balls for demolition.

Period of Performance

The work must be completed within ten (10) calendar days from the date of execution of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at 608 E Michigan St., Hammond, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements

The successful contractor must possess a valid business license throughout the term of the contract and comply with all local laws, ordinances, and regulations affecting employees or prospective employees.
