Background The Salt Lake City VA Health Care System (SLC VAHCS) is seeking qualified vendors to provide information on alternative brands of endoscopic sinus equipment compatible with existing Karl Storz video/camera and light equipment. This initiative aims to support functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and pituitary skull base procedures within their Operating Rooms. Work Details Vendors must provide brochures/specifications for equivalent products that include the following endoscopic sinus scope sets for ENT surgery: 1) Hopkins II 0-degree 4mm X 18CM autoclavable scope, 2) Hopkins II 30-degree 4mm X 18CM autoclavable scope, 3) Hopkins II 70-degree 4mm X 18CM autoclavable scope, and 4) Hopkins II 45-degree 4mm X 18CM autoclavable scope. The scopes must have wide-angle views, be autoclavable for sterilization between cases, and suitable for both diagnostic and treatment purposes. Vendors must also confirm that the equipment is available through a lease and an annual service/maintenance agreement. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided). Place of Performance George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center, 500 Foothill Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84148. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate they have the necessary equipment, personnel, resources, and recent experience (within the past three years) in providing services of comparable size and complexity. They must also employ OEM certified technicians with unrestricted access to the facility during inclement weather and immediate access to OEM software updates. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent and/or closely related prior contract based on prior award 36C25226P0136, awarded to L1 Enterprises for an endoscopic scope lease with services valued at $1,880,023 (12/23/25–09/30/28). The prior work involved procuring and installing new Karl Storz endoscopic equipment and integrating suites in operating rooms, including compatibility with the Karl Storz StreamConnect image management system, along with installation, testing, commissioning, training, and documentation. The current requirement similarly focuses on leasing endoscopic sinus equipment compatible with existing Karl Storz video/camera and light systems and providing associated service/maintenance support, suggesting continuity in equipment type and integration/service approach.
