Summary: Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is the premier Government agency dedicated to the conservation, protection, and enhancement of fish, wildlife and plants, and their habitats. The McNary Maintenance shop has a requirement to sealcoat an asphalt paved trail located at the McNary National Wildlife Refuge, 497 Gallant Rd, Burbank, Washington. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials (with the exception of those listed as provided by the government) to perform all work required to sealcoat an asphalt surfaced hiking trail. The existing trail was constructed in 2019 and is in good condition. The contracted activity is the second sealcoating of the trail, which is estimated to be 6300 feet long and 5 feet wide. The surface must be free of all foreign material and dry immediately prior to sealcoat application. Cleaning methods may include air blowing, vacuuming, mechanical sweeping, washing, or other approved techniques. Areas of structurally unsound asphalt concrete such as alligator cracking or low spots must be repaired prior to sealcoat placement. Application of the asphalt sealcoat shall be by mechanical means using rubber faced squeegees or brooms. The application must be uniform and free flowing without lumps or inconsistencies. Traffic shall not be allowed on the sealcoat until it is thoroughly cured, which takes approximately 24 hours in warm weather conditions. Period of Performance The period of performance is approximately from June 15, 2026 to October 15, 2026. Place of Performance McNary National Wildlife Refuge, 497 Gallant Rd, Burbank, WA. Bidder Requirements The contractor must furnish any required performance and payment bonds within 10 calendar days after award.
