Background The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River, MD, is seeking to procure services for Aeromechanics and Systems Engineering research, development, and technical support. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The goal of this contract is to support the NAVAIR and NAWCAD mission priorities in acquiring and sustaining weapons systems for the United States Navy (USN) and Marine Corps (USMC). Work Details The contractor will provide engineering and technical support services for software and hardware development, prototype development, and analysis related to the lifecycle of Navy and Marine Corps air systems. Key tasks include: conducting airworthiness assessments; evaluating cost, schedule, and technical risks; developing design guidelines; monitoring engineering designs throughout developmental milestones; supporting developmental flight tests; addressing production support issues; responding to fleet requests for improvements; and ensuring contractor oversight for research and developmental acquisition programs. The contractor will support various air systems including F/A-18 Hornets, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, V-22 Osprey, among others. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided) Place of Performance The primary location for performance will be at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be small businesses as this is a Small Business Set Aside. Contractors are required to have a TOP SECRET facility clearance and TOP SECRET or SECRET clearance for personnel involved in the project. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate relevant experience in aeromechanics systems engineering.
