Window Cleaning Services

Background

The Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government (Metro) is seeking proposals for high rise and commercial window cleaning services on an as-needed basis. The Facilities Management department aims to award a contract that will allow for ongoing services as project needs arise. This emphasizes the necessity of competitive negotiation due to the inability to specify requirements sufficiently for a lowest bid approach.

Work Details

The contractor will provide window cleaning services at various facilities, including but not limited to: 444 Building, Alexander Building, Animal House, City Hall, and multiple libraries across Louisville. Services include washing all interior and exterior glass doors and windows, complete removal of smudges and soil from glass surfaces, and ensuring all excess water is wiped clean from frames and sills. The contractor must supply all necessary cleaning equipment and materials, obtain permits for any required closures, and ensure work is satisfactory to the facilities manager. The contract will include both lump sum pricing and hourly wage rates for services.

Period of Performance

The contract will be in place for one year with an option to renew for up to five consecutive years.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout Louisville, including government buildings and libraries.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with the Louisville Metro Revenue Commission and comply with affirmative action requirements regarding employment and subcontracting of minority, female, and handicapped-owned businesses. Bidders must also adhere to local vendor preferences if applicable.
