Repairing, Rebuilding, and Maintaining Various Boilers and Boiler Control Systems

Background

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of various boilers, valves, and boiler control systems. The contract aims to ensure the operational efficiency and safety of the CTA's heating systems over a specified period. The contract duration is up to three years with two one-year options for extension.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for: 1. Repairing various types of boilers and associated control systems. 2. Rebuilding existing boiler systems as necessary to meet operational standards. 3. Maintaining all equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational efficiency. 4. Providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment required for the completion of the work.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over a period of up to three years, with two additional one-year options available.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various locations managed by the Chicago Transit Authority within the city of Chicago, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goals set at 5% of the total contract price. They must provide documentation of good faith efforts to meet this goal if they do not meet it directly. Additionally, bidders are required to furnish certified copies of insurance policies prior to contract execution, including Workers’ Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, Professional Liability, and others as specified.
