PROJECT SUMMARY

The USFS is pursuing a Purchase Order for the culvert replacement construction services on the Tofte Ranger District, Superior National Forest. Work includes but is not limited to removal of timber panel bridging, demolition and removal of existing culverts, and furnishing and installation of new precast concrete culverts, head walls, and wing walls. Services shall be performed by the awardee in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions of this solicitation, including those found in the solicitation attachments. SET-ASIDE: This solicitation is set aside 100% for Small Business entities under NAICS 237310 - Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction (Size Standard: $45M).

Summary: Background The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of culverts on the Tofte Ranger District, Superior National Forest. The goal of this contract is to ensure the integrity and functionality of the Little Isabella River culverts, which are critical for maintaining traffic flow and environmental protection in a designated trout stream area. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - Removal of timber panel bridging; - Demolition and removal of existing corrugated metal pipe arch culverts; - Furnishing and installation of two new precast concrete box culverts (24'-0" long x 12'-0" wide x 5'-0" high); - Installation of two precast concrete headwalls (1'-5" wide x 9" high x 14'-0" long) at both upstream and downstream faces; - Installation of precast concrete wing walls; - Furnishing and installing rip rap, backfill, and geotextile drainage material; - Placing aggregate to achieve final road grade; - Installing permanent bridge signs; - Seeding and mulching all disturbed areas; - Protecting the Little Isabella River and associated wetlands from siltation during construction. All work must comply with FHWA Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects. Period of Performance The project is expected to commence within 7 calendar days after award and must be completed within 424 calendar days, with specific restrictions on in-stream work occurring between June 30th and September 15th.
