HHS CHMHI Tuckpointing Phase 2.2

Background

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is issuing a Request for Bids (RFB #951300-02) for tuckpointing repairs at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute located in Cherokee, Iowa. The goal of this contract is to perform necessary tuckpointing repairs to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic appearance of the facility, which serves mental health needs in the community.

Work Details

The work includes tuckpointing repairs at various buildings within the Cherokee Mental Health Institute. Specific tasks include: - Level #1 repointing repairs at the Admin Building, Rear Center Building, North A, B & C Buildings, and South A, B & C Buildings. - Brick patching in lieu of brick replacement. - Adding penetrating water repellent as specified. Additionally, unit prices are to be provided for extra tuckpointing work and deep joint repairs based on square footage.

Period of Performance

Construction is anticipated to begin in August 2026 and is expected to be completed by June 30th, 2027.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute located at 1251 West Cedar Loop, Cherokee, IA 51012.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all affirmative action/equal employment opportunity provisions of the State of Iowa and Federal Government. Bids must include a bid security amounting to 5% of the total bid amount. Contractors must be registered with the Iowa Labor Commissioner as required by Chapter 91C, Code of Iowa. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to provide subcontractor information for targeted small businesses.
