Custodial Services for Fire Dept

Background

The Town of Wallingford is seeking a cleaning company to manage custodial services for the Fire Department's Central Headquarters located at 75 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition to support the operational needs of the Fire Department.

Work Details

The selected custodial company will be responsible for cleaning the Fire Department headquarters two days per week. The specific tasks include: 1. Vacuuming all carpeted areas including administrative wings, classrooms, conference rooms, clerical offices, and hallways. 2. Mopping non-carpeted areas and stairs. 3. Cleaning bathrooms (mirrors, sinks, fixtures, toilets, walls, and floors). 4. Disinfecting telephones, door handles, and light switches. 5. Dusting and de-webbing all surfaces in the administrative wings. 6. Refilling soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet paper holders. 7. Emptying trash cans and recycling bins and disposing of waste properly. 8. Monthly window cleaning for all tilt-in windows in administrative wings. 9. Annual steam cleaning of carpets and special treatment for bathroom floors.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence from the date of award through June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the Fire Department's Central Headquarters located at 75 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate experience in providing custodial services to similar facilities and provide references from at least three clients within the last five years. Additionally, bidders must comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding labor practices and safety standards.
