Sewer Repair and Valve Installation

Background

The Village of Wilmette is issuing Request for Bid No. 26074 for a Sewer Repair and Valve Installation project. The goal of this contract is to perform necessary sewer point repairs, inlet and catch basin replacements, as well as water valve replacements and installations at various locations within the Village. This work is governed by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act.

Work Details

The work includes: 1) Sewer point repairs; 2) Inlet and catch basin replacements; 3) Water valve replacements; 4) Water valve installations. The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and expertise necessary to complete the project as outlined in the specifications. Specific items listed in the detailed bid sheet include temporary fencing, trench backfill, sodding, inlet filters, sidewalk restoration, detectable warnings, various patching works, gate valves of different sizes, bypass pumping, video inspection of sewer lines, and more.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for work is on or after July 15, 2026. All work must be substantially completed within twenty-five (25) working days from the start date or by November 13, 2026, whichever comes first.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at various locations within the Village of Wilmette.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of three years' experience in similar work and must hold IDOT prequalification for drainage work. Additionally, all bids must include a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. Bidders are required to comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and ensure that at least 90% of employees performing this work are Illinois residents.
