Background

The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the procurement of dried beans, specifically red beans that are triple cleaned. The purpose of this solicitation is to acquire goods for delivery to the ODOC's Central Distribution Center located in Salem, Oregon. The agency aims to ensure a consistent supply of quality food products for its operations.

Work Details

The contract involves the delivery of 42,500 pounds of dried red beans, which must meet the following specifications: - Beans must be uniform in color and prepared from U.S. No 2 or better for U.S. Standards for Grades of Beans. - Beans must be well screened (triple cleaned). - A written certification from the manufacturer indicating that the beans have been thoroughly cleaned will be required. - All goods must comply with FDA/USDA standards and all specifications outlined in the ITB.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon issuance of a Purchase Order, with the first delivery expected within 45 days after receipt of order.

Place of Performance

Goods are to be delivered to the Oregon Department of Corrections' Central Distribution Center located at 3601 State Street, Salem, OR 97301.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must certify compliance with Oregon tax laws and may need to provide proof of being a certified DBE, MBE, WBE, ESB, or SDVBE. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to meet preferences for Oregon Goods and Services as outlined in Section 2.10.1.
