Background

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is issuing a Request for Bids (RFB923904-01) for the construction of exterior improvements and earthwork related to the installation of a perimeter fence and sally port at the Newton Correctional Facility (NCF). This facility is part of the Iowa Prison Industries (IPI) and Homes For Iowa (HFI) Facility Production Site located at 307 S 60th Ave W, Newton, Iowa 50208. The project aims to enhance security measures at the facility.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to complete the construction as per the provided Drawings and Specifications. The main components of the project include: 1. Construction of a perimeter fence around the facility. 2. Installation of a sally port for secure entry and exit. 3. Earthwork associated with these installations. Bid Packages include:

BP 01

NCF IPI HFI Phase II Perimeter Fence Project.

UNIT 01

Over-Excavation & Replacement of Unsuitable Fill (per cubic yard).

UNIT 02

Additional Crushed Rock Surface (per cubic yard).

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the bid documents, starting from the date of contract award and expected to be completed by June 01, 2026.

Bidder Requirements
