DCI Ankeny: Instrument Lab Expansion

Background

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is issuing a Request for Bids (RFB #953200-01) for the expansion of the existing instrument lab at DCI Laboratory located in Ankeny, Iowa. The goal of this contract is to enhance the laboratory's capabilities to support its mission effectively.

Work Details

The project involves the construction work necessary for the expansion of the instrument lab. This includes:

General Construction Scope

All material, labor, and equipment associated with architectural work as shown in the contract documents, including specification divisions 00, 01, 02, 06, 07 (applicable), 09, and 12.

Mechanical Scope

All material, labor, and equipment associated with mechanical work as shown in the contract documents, including specification divisions 00, 01 (limited to mechanical demolition), 07 (applicable), 22, and 23.

Electrical Scope

All material, labor, and equipment associated with electrical work as shown in the contract documents, including specification divisions 00, 01 (limited electrical demolition), 07 (applicable), 26, 27, and 28.

Period of Performance

Construction is anticipated to begin on August 18, 2026 and end on January 4, 2027.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at DCI Laboratory located at 2250 South Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all affirmative action/equal employment opportunity provisions of the State of Iowa and Federal Government. Bids must include a bid security of 5% of the total bid amount. Bidders are required to be registered with the Iowa Labor Commissioner as a Contractor as per Chapter 91C of the Code of Iowa.
