The 97th Maintenance Group at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma requires one (qty 1) 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center; 30" x 20" x 20" with integrated 2-axis trunnion rotary table and (qt 1) Super Speed Vertical Machining Center; X 50" x Y 20" x Z 25", as specified in (DAFI) 63-140 and air force materiel command (AFMC) supplement dafi63-140_afmcsup. The 97th Contracting Squadron intends to make award to PHILLIPS CORP. FEDERAL DIVISION (CAGE: 3MPQ0), due to this being the only source capable of providing a DAFI compliant machine. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under the authority of RFO 5.103. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for the requirement. Sources interested in responding to this notice are required to submit a capability statement that includes technical data and cost information, sufficient detail and with convincing evidence that clearly demonstrates the capability to meet the requirement. Requests for documentation, additional information, or submissions that only ask questions will not be considered as an affirmative response. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed with a single source procurement. Capability statements are due by 22 JUNE at 9:00 AM CST. Background The 97th Maintenance Group at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is seeking to procure specific CNC machinery to support its operational needs. The goal of this contract is to acquire one 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center and one Super Speed Vertical Machining Center, which are essential for maintaining the proficiency and readiness of the Air Force's metal fabrication capabilities. This machine must include a Value Option Package featuring a belt-type chip conveyor, programmable coolant nozzle, broken tool detection, high-speed machining capabilities, auto door, auxiliary coolant filter, coolant maintenance package, coolant sanitizer, through-tool air blast, and through-spindle coolant. It is required to have a power input of 240V, 3-phase and comes with a one-year warranty. 2) A Haas VF-4SS Super Speed Vertical Machining Center with dimensions of X 50" x Y 20" x Z 25", also requiring a Value Option Package that includes features such as chip auger, high-intensity lighting, programmable coolant nozzle, high-speed machining capabilities, wireless probing, and various coolant management features. This machine requires a power input of 480V, 3-phase and also includes a one-year warranty.
