Summary: Background The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for upgrades to the tree seedling cooler at the Coos Bay District Office in North Bend, Oregon. The goal of this contract is to enhance the efficiency of storage, electricity savings, and temperature control for tree seedling storage throughout the planting season. Work Details The work includes the installation of a new insulated dividing wall within an existing walk-in cooler, which measures approximately 36' W × 92' L × 14' H. A center-opening bi-parting insulated sliding door will be installed to facilitate access. Existing lighting will be removed and replaced with sealed, cold-rated LED fixtures to ensure adequate illumination for cold storage. Additionally, the existing humidifier will be replaced with a new unit suitable for cooler conditions. Specific tasks include: 1. Installation of an insulated dividing wall made from factory-finished insulated metal panels with continuous air-tight seals. 2. Installation of a bi-parting insulated manual sliding door with compressible perimeter gaskets. 3. Removal and replacement of existing lighting fixtures with NSF vapor-tight LED luminaires rated to -40°F, targeting an illuminance of 20 foot-candles. 4. Removal of existing humidifier equipment and installation of a new humidifier unit, followed by verification of proper operation and humidity control.
