Background

The Louisville Metro Government, specifically the Louisville Fire Department (LFD), is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) systems and associated breathing air support equipment. The purpose of this procurement is to replace and standardize the frontline respiratory protection equipment in compliance with NFPA and NIOSH standards, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of fire department operations.

Work Details

Vendors are required to furnish the following items: 1. Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units rated at 5500 PSI with a 45-minute duration, including parachute-style harnesses, integrated pressure reducers, and SEMS/PASS devices. 2. Spare cylinders and facepieces (medium size unless specified otherwise). 3. Positive-pressure quick-disconnect regulators compatible with SCBA systems. 4. Carbon-composite SCBA cylinders rated for 45 minutes, including additional cylinders with 90-degree valves for Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) use. 5. A 5500 PSI Rapid Intervention Crew Air Supply Pack compatible with SCBA equipment. 6. One stationary 6000 PSI breathing air compressor (24 CFM, 20 HP, four-stage) and one mobile breathing air compressor with dual fill stations. 7. Options for integrated thermal imaging devices, Bluetooth communications, accountability systems, location tracking capabilities, and emergency breathing safety systems. 8. Warranty terms, service support options, training availability, and parts availability must be disclosed by vendors.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to include a testing and evaluation period during July and August 2026. Proposals must be submitted by June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed in Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local vendor preferences if applicable.
