Background

The New Haven Board of Education Food and Nutrition Department is soliciting Request for Proposals (RFP) for the delivery of dairy and juice products to summer camps, schools, and Central Kitchen locations for the 2026-27 School Year. The program operates approximately 224 service days and serves around 17,500 to 19,000 meals per day. This initiative aims to ensure that students have access to nutritious dairy and juice options during their meals.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for delivering various dairy and juice products to designated locations including summer camps, schools, and the Central Kitchen. Specific requirements include: - Delivery of milk (whole, low-fat, skim) and juice (100% fruit juice) in appropriate packaging. - Compliance with all health and safety regulations regarding food delivery. - Timely deliveries aligned with the school meal schedule. - Provision of necessary documentation for each delivery including invoices and product specifications.

The contract will commence on June 4, 2026, with deliveries expected throughout the 2026-27 school year, covering approximately 224 service days.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to various locations within New Haven, Connecticut including summer camps, schools, and the Central Kitchen.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local hiring preferences as outlined in the City’s policies. They must also adhere to the City of New Haven Living Wage Ordinance if applicable. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit as part of their proposal.
