Terminal Drive Bridge Rehabilitation

Background

The Kenton County Airport Board (KCAB) is seeking proposals for the Terminal Drive Bridge Rehabilitation project. This project aims to enhance the structural integrity and safety of the bridge, which serves as a critical connection between the airport terminal and parking facilities. The work will be conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring adherence to building codes and safety standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including: 1. Compliance with applicable laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and industry standards during construction. 2. Performing concrete repairs including patching spalls in approach pavements, traffic barrier walls, pedestrian barrier walls, substructures, and overhangs. 3. Implementing quality control tests for materials used in construction. 4. Maintaining safe access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians throughout the project duration. 5. Managing traffic control plans to minimize disruption during construction phases. Specific repairs include: - Flowable Fill Under Slab (Repair 1) - Patch Spalls in Approach Pavement (Repair 4) - Patch Shallow Traffic Barrier Wall Spalls (Repair 7) - Patch Overhang Bracket Holes (Repair 8) - Patch Shallow Pier Cap Spalls (Repair 9) - Traffic Barrier Wall Patching (Repair 13) - Pedestrian Barrier Wall Patching (Repair 14) - Substructure Patching (Repair 18) - Light Blister Patching and FRP Repairs (Repair 21) - Patch Overhang and FRP Repairs (Repair 23)

Period of Performance

The total duration of the project is expected to be 60 calendar days, with a planned Notice to Proceed date of September 14, 2026, and a required completion date of November 19, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Kenton County Airport located in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a current Kentucky Transportation Cabinet prequalification certificate for Work E1 – Bridges Not More Than 70 Ft. Clear Span or higher classification at the time of bid submission and throughout the contract duration. All contractors and subcontractors involved must also possess valid KYTC prequalification certificates relevant to their work type.
