Provide Custodial Services for the Dorothy Swanda Jones Building

Background

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide custodial services for the Dorothy Swanda Jones (DSJ) Building located at 350 East Dahlia Avenue, Palmer, Alaska. The purpose of this solicitation is to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, supporting the Borough's mission to provide quality services to its community.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, tools, and equipment necessary to perform custodial services for approximately 22,275 square feet of space including ten restrooms, four kitchenettes, two break rooms, and nine departments with 80-85 workstations. Services are required Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Specific tasks include: - Sweeping, vacuuming or mopping floors; - Emptying trash receptacles; - Dusting surfaces; - Cleaning interior glass; - Sanitizing handrails and door handles; - Refilling soap and paper products in restrooms; - Cleaning kitchenettes and public areas; - Reporting maintenance issues. The contractor must also maintain a clean and organized janitorial supply closet with an up-to-date Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binder. Equipment must meet safety regulations and include industrial-grade vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and extractors. All work must be performed without disturbing Borough business or other contractors.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and will end on June 30, 2027. There is an option for two additional one-year extensions subject to mutual agreement.

Services will be performed at the Dorothy Swanda Jones Building located at 350 East Dahlia Avenue, Palmer, Alaska.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with state of Alaska Statutes regarding business licenses. They should not be debarred or suspended from doing business with the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Bidders are required to submit a signed bid form acknowledging receipt of any addenda and must include all required documents as specified in the Instructions to Bidders.
