Background

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is seeking to enter into a contract with a qualified vendor for the procurement of a benchtop laser engraving and cutting system. The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain equipment suitable for instructional and light production use, supporting various engraving, cutting, and marking applications. The College's mission is to provide quality education and training, and this equipment will enhance its instructional capabilities.

Work Details

The vendor shall provide a benchtop laser engraving and cutting system that meets or exceeds the following specifications: 1. **Equipment Overview**: A system suitable for instructional and light production use, including all necessary components for safe operation. 2. **Minimum Performance Requirements**:

Servo-driven or equivalent precision motion system 3. **System Capabilities**: - Support for engraving, cutting, and marking on materials such as wood, plastics, acrylics, and coated metals. - Air assist functionality for improved cutting quality. - Pass-through capability for oversized materials. - Removable or interchangeable work surface (grid or honeycomb). - Support for rotary attachments for cylindrical engraving. 4. **Positioning and Alignment**: - Integrated positioning solution for visual or software-assisted placement of artwork. 5. **Optical Components**: - Standard engraving lens suitable for general-purpose applications with options for additional lenses. 6. **Material Handling**: - Work surface supporting vector cutting functionality with pass-through capability. 7. **Ventilation and Exhaust**: - Compatibility with ventilation systems; vendor to specify airflow requirements. 8. **Electrical Requirements**: - Auto-switching power supply (100–240V), single phase. 9. **Physical Requirements**: - Benchtop compatible size suitable for classroom/lab environments. 10. **Included Components**: - Fully operational laser system, integrated positioning system, standard work surface, air assist compressor, rotary attachment interface, required software, manufacturer warranty (minimum two years), delivery and setup support. 11. **Training Requirements**: - Onsite or virtual training provided by the vendor to ensure safe operation of the system.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed upon award until the completion of delivery and setup of the equipment as specified in the solicitation.
