Background

The Hawaii State Senate is seeking price quotations for the printing, sewing, and binding of the 2025 Senate Journal. This contract aims to ensure the production of a high-quality journal that documents the proceedings of the Senate during the regular session of 2025.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Digital printing of an estimated 55 copies of the journal, totaling approximately 61,600 pages (1,120 pages per copy). 2. Use of forty-pound, white machine finished book text paper (Pixelle Offset 40# or equal). 3. Each page dimensions: 10.5 inches high and 7.25 inches wide, with a type area of 9.5 inches by 6 inches provided in camera-ready PDF format. 4. Cased cover made from Red Label® Cover Board with Roxite F Buckram gold or equal, machine bound. 5. Binding using Perfect Bound 2-shot Casebound method. 6. The book's backbone must include 'SENATE JOURNAL 2025 REGULAR SESSION' in black lettering. 7. Provide digi-proof and initial Epson cover proof for approval prior to final production. 8. Approximately seventeen copies will be gold stamped with names of Senate members and officers using General Roll leaf foil gold ES25 or equal.

Period of Performance

The estimated date of delivery for the completed journals is August 31, 2026, with all copies to be delivered within thirty days after receipt of approved camera-ready pages.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed at the contractor's facility with final delivery to the Office of the Senate Clerk located at the State Capitol in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Bidder Requirements

Offerors must provide names and contact information for three previous clients who have received similar services within the last five years to demonstrate capability. The provisions of Chapter 103D, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes apply to this contract.
