BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus is located in Boulder, Colorado and is a research & development facility. DOC also consists of National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) agencies on the NIST campus. The Office of Facilities and Property Management (OFPM) at NIST is responsible for maintaining and renovating spaces which consist of laboratories, office space and facilities maintenance areas, except the David Skaggs Research Center. - PURPOSE The objective of this acquisition is to disconnect Building 2A (B2A) from all utility services supplied to the building, complete demolition/ removal of B2A and remaining contents, return subgrade to elevation of adjacent soils, installation of new concrete sidewalk, new asphalt flatwork at vehicular surfaces, new parking striping on asphalt surfaces and new parking lot luminaires for this section of the parking lot.

Work will be performed at the US Department of Commerce (DOC) Boulder Laboratories campus at 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO in and around B2A.

The Office of Facilities and Property Management (OFPM) at NIST is responsible for maintaining and renovating spaces that include laboratories, office space, and facilities maintenance areas, excluding the David Skaggs Research Center. Work Details The objective of this acquisition is to disconnect Building 2A (B2A) from all utility services, complete the demolition and removal of B2A along with its contents, return the subgrade to the elevation of adjacent soils, install a new concrete sidewalk, new asphalt flatwork for vehicular surfaces, new parking striping on asphalt surfaces, and new parking lot luminaires for this section of the parking lot. Specific tasks include: 1. Demolishing Building 2A including its superstructure, roof, mechanical and electrical equipment, foundation/footers, building utility feeds, associated site improvements within the footprint, and surrounding pavement. Debris must be disposed of at an off-site facility. 2. Demolishing all utilities within the footprint including domestic water lines back to supply points inside Building 2; sanitary sewer lines back to cleanouts; gas lines back to where they tee off from Building 2 service; compressed air lines back to service in Building 2; and electrical connections fed from existing distribution boards. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the construction projects will be performed (if provided) Place of Performance Work will be performed at the US Department of Commerce (DOC) Boulder Laboratories campus located at 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO in and around Building 2A. Bidder Requirements Bidders must meet specific requirements including being a small business as indicated by 'Small Business Set Aside - Total (SBA)', possess necessary contractor or trade licenses, provide bid/payment/performance bonds as required by the contract terms, maintain appropriate insurance levels, and adhere to safety qualifications. Additionally, contractors must coordinate with NIST representatives throughout the project duration.
