Trash and Recycling Container Service for Omaha Public Libraries (OPL

Background

The City of Omaha is seeking qualified companies to provide trash and recycling container services for the Omaha Public Libraries (OPL). The goal of this contract is to ensure proper waste management services across various library facilities, aligning with the city's mission to maintain cleanliness and sustainability in public spaces. The selected vendor will be responsible for delivering reliable waste management solutions tailored to the specific needs of each library location.

Work Details

The contract includes the provision of trash and recycling containers at multiple library locations, with specific quantities and types outlined as follows: 1. A.V. Sorensen Branch: 12 recycling containers per month. 2. Benson Branch Library: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 3. Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch Library: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 4. Central Library: 12 recycling containers per month. 5. Charles B. Washington Branch Library: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 6. Downtown Branch: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 7. Florence Branch: 12 recycling containers per month. 8. Millard Branch: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 9. Milton R. Abrahams Branch: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 10. W. Clarke Swanson Branch: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. 11. Willa Cather Branch: 12 trash containers and 12 recycling containers per month. Additional services include the replacement of missing or broken locks, relocating containers, and additional pickups for various container sizes as needed.

Period of Performance

The period of performance for this contract is set for two years, starting approximately in July 2026 and extending through July 2028, with an option for three additional one-year extensions at the discretion of the City of Omaha.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout Omaha, specifically at designated branches of the Omaha Public Libraries including but not limited to Benson, Central, Downtown, Millard, and others as specified in the solicitation.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with several requirements including submission of a Responsible Contractor Compliance Form (RC-1), adherence to the Employee Classification Act, maintenance of fair labor standards, provision of a Performance Bond upon award, and ensuring that all personnel are trained in relevant laws and safety protocols. Additionally, bidders must provide references from current customers purchasing similar services.
