Background

The City of Hinesville is issuing RFQ/P 2026-02 for Public Works and Utilities Operations and Maintenance. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive services for public works and transit operations, ensuring efficient maintenance and management of city infrastructure. The contract includes two distinct projects: one for public works with an initial term of 1 year plus a 1-year option, and another for transit with an initial term of 2 years plus five 1-year options.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: 1. Public Works Operations: This includes general maintenance, repair, and operational support for city infrastructure. 2. Transit Operations: This encompasses vehicle maintenance (excluding body shop repairs), route management, and customer service enhancements. 3. Temporary Event Support: Providing labor to assist citizen groups with event setup, takedown, and cleanup at public parks/recreation areas. The scope includes labor only as the City owns necessary equipment such as pavilions, tents, chairs, tables, barricades, etc. 4. Personnel Management: Transitioning current employees under the same or equivalent salary and benefits as per the existing contractor's terms. 5. Sanitation & Solid Waste Operations: Managing waste collection routes, yard waste processing, polycart management, and holiday surge disposal volume management.

Period of Performance

The public works project has an initial term of 1 year with a potential 1-year extension; the transit project has an initial term of 2 years with five additional 1-year options.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within the geographic boundaries of Hinesville, Georgia.
