Background NASA/NSSC has a requirement for an Intensified Andor iStar sCMOS Camera for laser-induced fluorescence measurements in the near-IR. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to ANDOR TECHNOLOGY, INC., located at 300 Baker Ave Ste 150, Concord, Massachusetts 01742-2124, United States. It has been determined that ANDOR TECHNOLOGY, INC. is the sole provider of this camera. The procurement will be managed by NASA and performed at NASA/Langley Research Center (LARC). Work Details The contract involves the purchase of the following item: - Part #: ISTAR-SCMOS-18U-74 - Description: Intensified Andor iStar sCMOS Camera - Specifications: - 5MP, 2560x2160 pixel resolution - Pixel size: 6.5µm - Global shutter capability - Frame rate: 40 fps (full frame) - Coupled with a 1:1 fibre-optic image intensifier - Photocathode: #18mm Gen 3 VIH - Peak quantum efficiency: 25.5% typ. - Gate width: = 2ns - Photocathode repetition rate: 500 kHz - Integrated digital delay generator with ultra-low jitter (3x output) - Cooling capability to 0°C - USB3.0 interface - Additional Services: Priority Support, LiveAssist, Repairs including extended coverage for all parts and labor during the contract period (12 months). Note that this does not cover mechanical damage due to mishandling or sensors in open fronted cameras. Period of Performance 18-20 Weeks Place of Performance NASA-Langley Research Center, 4 South Marvin Street Building 1206, Hampton, VA 23681-2199 Bidder Requirements No specific bidder requirements are mentioned beyond the sole source designation to ANDOR TECHNOLOGY, INC. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a closely related prior contract with Andor Technology (80NSSC25PB583) valued at $67,529 for “ANDOR CAMERAS” during 07/30/25–10/21/25. The current requirement is for an Intensified Andor iStar sCMOS camera configured for near-IR laser-induced fluorescence measurements, which suggests the prior procurement likely involved the same type of Andor camera hardware and related supply/support needed to support similar near-IR fluorescence imaging use cases.
