Background

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide routine janitorial services at the Environmental Services Field Office 6 located at 1023 West Madison Street, Washington, Iowa. The DNR's mission includes assisting citizens, businesses, and industries in compliance with Iowa's environmental programs. The office consists of approximately 6,000 square feet and includes 17 office cubicles, two restrooms, a break room, a conference room, testing station cubicles, a sample lab, and a file area.

Work Details

The contractor will provide routine janitorial services on a weekly basis with additional midweek and periodic tasks. Specific tasks include: 1. Weekly Cleaning Services:

Floor Maintenance

Vacuum carpets and mop vinyl floors in various areas; spot clean carpet stains; vacuum entrance mats.

Restroom Sanitation

Disinfect sinks, toilets, urinals, showers; clean mirrors and surfaces; sweep and mop floors. - Surface Dusting & Disinfection: Dust community office areas and shared spaces; disinfect sinks and tables in common areas.

Waste Management

Empty trash cans, replace garbage bags, dispose of waste properly. 2. Midweek Cleaning Services: - Empty trash cans; vacuum/sweep heavily traveled areas; clean bathrooms and breakroom/lab areas. 3. Periodic Cleaning Services (every 8 weeks): - Clean interior/exterior windows; remove dust/cobwebs from offices; wipe down chair bottoms and moldings.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and is expected to have an initial term with options for renewal not exceeding six years total.

All services will be performed at the Environmental Services Field Office located at 1023 West Madison Street, Washington, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must comply with all mandatory specifications outlined in the RFP. They are required to supply all necessary equipment and cleaning solutions stored off-site. Additionally, the contractor must maintain insurance coverage for general liabilities as required by Iowa law.
