Spencer RC RTU Replacement

Background

The Iowa Department of Public Defense (DPD) is seeking professional services to replace seven existing rooftop units (RTUs) at the Spencer Readiness Center. This project aims to enhance the facility's HVAC system efficiency and reliability.

Work Details

The contractor will replace 7 existing Lennox RTUs with Lennox Enlight RTUs, which must include the following factory-installed options:

Single Enthalpy High Performance Economizer

- Direct Drive Supply Fan (Multi-Speed ECM)

Barometric Relief Damper

- Low Nox features

Hinged Access Doors

- Environmentally friendly Evaporator and Condenser Coil System - 2" MERV8 - PLE Filter - Condensate switch. Additionally, the existing thermostats will be replaced with Honeywell TH8321WF VisionPRO 8000 Smart Thermostats. Low voltage wiring from the RTU to the thermostat will be replaced if deemed insufficient for operation. If line voltage wiring is sufficient, it should be retained; otherwise, replacement breakers and wiring must be included as needed. The Lennox Enlight units should ideally not have an additional fused disconnect; if unavoidable, they must be ordered without the non-fused disconnect. For gas connections, all materials needed to connect gas to the replacement RTUs must be provided, including replacing existing unions and ball valves. Roofing requirements include roof curb adapters and high wind hold down brackets. Any penetrations needing sealing or repairs from installation must be compatible with Duro Last Inc. roofing systems.
