Background

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide routine janitorial services for the Environmental Services Field Office located at 1101 Commercial Court, Suite 10, Manchester, Iowa. This office is one of six regional environmental services offices that assist citizens and businesses in achieving compliance with Iowa's environmental programs. The office space is approximately 5,696 square feet and includes various facilities such as cubicles, restrooms, a break room, conference rooms, testing stations, a sample lab, and a file room.

Work Details

The contractor will provide routine janitorial services on a weekly basis with additional tasks performed monthly or annually. Specific tasks include: - **Weekly Cleaning Services**: Vacuuming floors, removing carpet stains, cleaning entryway doors and glass, cleaning phones, dusting surfaces including cupboards and desktops, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms (including floors and fixtures), cleaning sink areas outside restrooms, emptying and relining trash and recycling bins. - **Monthly Cleaning Services**: Dusting windows and woodwork, cleaning interior window glass, removing dust or cobwebs from walls and ceilings, removing smudges from cabinets. - **Annual Carpet Cleaning Services**: Vacuuming floors under furniture, steam/shampooing carpets during the last week of June each year.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and may be extended for up to six years total. Weekly services are to be performed after regular business hours.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must comply with all specifications outlined in the RFP. They must submit proposals electronically to the designated issuing officer by the specified deadline. The successful contractor must maintain insurance coverage for general liabilities and workers' compensation as required by Iowa law.
