CUMMINS ENGINE REBUILD, DIAGNOSTICS, REPAIR AND PARTS - StarTran

Background

The City of Lincoln, referred to as 'StarTran', is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the annual supply of Cummins engine rebuilds, diagnostics, repairs, and parts. This contract aims to support StarTran's transit operations funded by the Federal Government, ensuring compliance with FTA regulations.

Work Details

The contractor will provide services including: - Rebuilding Cummins ISL 280 Engines (in-frame) to original manufacturer specifications. - Services include in-frame overhaul with new pistons/liners, cylinder head, turbocharger, injectors with new pass-through connectors, oil cooler, bearings, front main seal & cover, rod bolts, oil pump, water pump, thermostat, belt, fuel filters, air filter, engine oil, coolant, exhaust manifold studs/bolts. - The contract covers a fleet of various transit buses including 2006 Gillig Low Floor Transit Buses and multiple New Flyer models from different years. - The contractor must also provide diagnostic and repair services for Cummins engines on transit buses.

Period of Performance

The contract term is for one year upon execution with options to renew for three additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the contractor's location or shop. Deliveries will be made to StarTran Garage located at 710 J Street, Lincoln, NE 68508.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with the City of Lincoln/Lancaster County Purchasing Department. They are required to comply with federal guidelines due to the use of federal funding. Contractors must provide proof of insurance as per the specified requirements and submit various certifications including debarment and citizenship attestations.
