Background

The City of Bridgeport, the most populous city in Connecticut, is seeking bids for grocery items to support its Food & Nutrition Services Department. The goal of this contract is to provide essential food supplies for various school sites and nutrition centers throughout the district, ensuring compliance with municipal, state, and federal regulations.

Work Details

The contract includes the provision of a wide range of grocery items categorized under breakfast items, condiments, seasonings, miscellaneous items, and more. Specific products include various types of bread, pastries, cereals, sauces, dressings, and frozen foods from recognized manufacturers such as Kellogg's, Pillsbury, and General Mills. Deliveries must be made to designated locations including the Food & Nutrition Services Nutrition Center at 113 Federal Street and various school sites across Bridgeport. The selected vendor must ensure that all products meet nutritional guidelines and are delivered in accordance with specified delivery schedules.

Period of Performance

The contract will be effective from the date of award until June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to the Food & Nutrition Services Nutrition Center located at 113 Federal Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606 and various designated school locations throughout Bridgeport.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with USDA rules and regulations. They are required to submit documentation including a vendor statement on company letterhead confirming compliance with USDA requirements, a copy of their CT Secretary of State registration, evidence for utilization of donated government commodities, and nutritional analysis for all products offered with labels provided on a flash drive. Additionally, bidders must provide references and confirm no conflicts of interest.
