Summary: Background The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson, MS is issuing this contract to support the EHRM (Electronic Health Record Modernization) program. The goal is to provide Cerner training and command center space on-site to facilitate the deployment of EHRM at the Jackson VAMC. The fourth floor of the Research Department has been identified as a suitable location for this purpose. Work Details The contractor is required to renovate Building 5, 4th floor for training and administrative space. This includes: - removing existing lab services, special exhaust systems, electrical distribution systems, and laboratory gas systems; - providing new walls, finish flooring, and ceilings; - installing new lighting, power, fire alarm systems, plumbing fixtures; - providing new HVAC units specifically for the 4th floor. Work must be scheduled with facilities management to minimize disruption and may require after-hours or weekend work. The contractor must ensure safety by having valid hot work permits for welding or cutting tasks and must maintain a clean work area. Period of Performance The contractor will have 365 days to complete the scope of work starting from the date on the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance Jackson, MS at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be certified and licensed to perform the necessary work. They are required to provide workers' compensation insurance, professional liability insurance, health examinations, income tax withholding, and social security payments. Additionally, foremen must have thirty hours of OSHA training in Construction Safety and all personnel must have ten hours of OSHA training along with current TB test results.
