This initiative is in accordance with West Virginia Code §16-22-2 and aims to ensure that newborns are screened for metabolic disorders and receive necessary care through collaborative efforts.
The contract involves providing clinical consultation services five days a week, with emergency call availability 24/7. Key activities include: 1. Providing statewide medical/clinical consultation to primary care providers regarding children with or suspected of having inherited metabolic disorders. 2. Performance measures will include collaboration metrics, tracking the number of children diagnosed and receiving care, qualitative assessments defined by OMCFH, participation in stakeholder groups, and submission of a comprehensive annual report.
The contract will be performed from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
The services will be provided statewide across West Virginia.
