Traffic Signal & ITS Equipment Repair

Background

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the repair and delivery of traffic signal and ITS equipment. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and operational efficiency of traffic control systems within the state, thereby supporting public safety and transportation infrastructure.

Work Details

The contract involves the repair and delivery of traffic signal and ITS equipment as ordered by the Department. Key tasks include: 1. Diagnostic evaluations for each item to determine repairability, with a unit price bid for diagnostics included in the proposal. 2. Repair of items deemed repairable, with a 90-day warranty on all repairs. 3. Pickup and delivery of equipment from specified locations, primarily at 250 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701. 4. The vendor must provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment for repairs, including shipping costs for returning repaired items to the Department. 5. The vendor must notify the Department within 21 days if an item is beyond repair, providing a brief description of issues and potential parts needed for repairs.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract is three years from contract execution, with options for two additional one-year extensions through negotiation.

Place of Performance

Repairs will be conducted at the vendor's facility, with pickup and delivery occurring at specified locations in Delaware.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with DelDOT to submit a bid. They are required to have a local telephone number or agree to accept collect calls. Insurance requirements include: - Worker’s Compensation and Employer’s Liability Insurance as per applicable law. - Commercial General Liability Insurance ($1 million per occurrence / $3 million aggregate). - Product Liability Insurance ($1 million per occurrence / $3 million aggregate). - Automotive Liability Insurance covering all vehicles used in work with specified limits.
