Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to award a contract for annual medical gas inspection services at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (RJDVAMC) in Wichita, Kansas. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with NFPA 99 standards for the safe and reliable operation of medical gas and vacuum systems, which is critical to the facility's operations. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, tools, equipment, materials, supervision, and transportation to conduct annual inspections and testing of the medical gas and vacuum systems at RJDVAMC. The scope includes: 1. Inspecting and testing station outlets/inlets for pressure gases and vacuum systems. 2. Testing master/area/local alarms for functionality. 3. Inspecting isolation/zone valves for leakage and functionality. 4. Verifying pipeline labeling according to CGA C9/NFPA 99 standards. 5. Inspecting source supply equipment including bulk oxygen systems. The contractor must use personnel qualified under ASSE 6000 standards for inspections and verifications. The work excludes furnishing parts or performing corrective repairs; however, the contractor must recommend corrective actions if deficiencies are found. Period of Performance The anticipated period of performance is from May 3, 2026, to May 2, 2027, with four one-year option periods available. Place of Performance All work will be performed onsite at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center located at 5500 E. Kellogg Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67218-1607. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have personnel certified under ASSE 6020 (Inspector) for conducting inspections and ASSE 6030 (Verifier) for verification testing when applicable. Contractors must comply with security access requirements to VA facilities.
