Street Sweeping Services REBID

Background

The Louisville Metro Government (LMG), through its Public Works (PW) Department-Solid Waste Management and Services (SWMS) Division, is seeking to establish a contract for street sweeping services. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness on designated roadways and bike lanes within Louisville Metro, ensuring that the community's infrastructure remains safe and aesthetically pleasing.

Work Details

The contractor will provide street sweeping services covering a total of 530.40 center line miles of designated roadways and 90 miles of bike lanes. The contractor is responsible for: - Picking up and removing all foreign matter and debris using appropriate methods such as brooming, section processing, or scraping as necessary. - Disposing of debris at a designated location, specifically the Waste Reduction Center located at 636 Meriwether Ave during normal operation hours. - Performing pre-treatment operations as needed, including scraping buildup of dirt, gravel, and debris that may be too large for the sweeper. - Sweeping operations along curbed portions of all designated roadways/bike lanes, curb lines of bridges on designated roadways, full lengths of curbed medians, paved shoulders where litter or debris may exist, and turn lanes with shoulders or raised/elevated medians. - Providing a list of equipment available for use in fulfilling the contract requirements. - Completing all designated routes with an estimated frequency of three cycles per year for roadways, while bike lane sweeping will be on an 'on-call' basis.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue for a duration specified in the proposal process. The estimated frequency for roadway sweeping is three cycles per year.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within the Louisville Metro area, specifically on designated roadways and bike lanes as outlined in the attached 'Designated Suburban Sweeping Route List'.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local vendor preferences by being established in the Louisville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) for at least twelve consecutive months and possess a current Louisville Revenue Commission account number. Additionally, bidders must adhere to affirmative action requirements regarding employment and subcontracting practices involving Minority, Female, and Handicapped-owned businesses.
