Background

The City of Davenport is issuing this Invitation to Bid for the demolition of the property located at 2202 West 4th Street, Parcel ID: I0057-08. The property is deemed a public hazard and unsafe to enter. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and efficient demolition of the structure within a specified timeframe, adhering to local regulations and safety standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, tools, utility abandonment, transportation services, landfill fees, and all incidentals necessary for the completion of the demolition. Specific tasks include: - Demolishing the property and any existing outbuildings. - Clearing away all debris from the site. - Disposing of debris legally. - Filling foundation cavities. - Removing all trees/vegetation. - Ensuring a smooth finish grade capable of supporting vegetation. The contractor must also disconnect water and sewer utilities, comply with Iowa Statewide Urban Design Specifications (SUDAS), and obtain necessary permits. Demolition must be completed within 15 days of contract award. A penalty fee of $100 per day will apply for delays beyond this period.

Period of Performance

The demolition work must commence within 24 hours of contract signing and be completed no later than 15 days from initiation.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must hold all required licenses including a current demolition contractor’s license and asbestos abatement licensing.
