Summary: Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is conducting market research for a project at Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge aimed at replacing deteriorated boat ramps. The goal of the contract is to enhance public safety, protect refuge and visitor property, and reduce long-term maintenance costs associated with the boat ramps used for recreational activities such as hunting and fishing. Work Details The project involves the demolition and replacement of three (3) concrete boat ramps at Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge. The new construction will include two (2) double-lane concrete boat ramps designed to accommodate modern vehicles and trailers, support increased loads, and comply with current design standards. Each lane will be separated by a median that allows for the installation of a steel boat dock measuring 30 ft x 6 ft. Additionally, two (2) concrete boat docks (bulkheads) will be demolished: one located at the North Shore (620 sq ft) as part of the North Shore boat ramp structure, and another at the South Shore (870 sq ft). The wave breaks at both locations will also require extension, reinforcement, and potential relocation. Period of Performance The anticipated contract term is 60 days. Place of Performance Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge, 702 E Xavier Rd, Kirwin, KS 67644. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a Quick Entry Data Form that includes company name, address, point of contact, UEI number, Cage Code, and business classification (e.g., WOSB, VOSB).
