Bridge 106.2 Handrail Repair

Background

The Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) is soliciting bids for the repair and reconfiguration of the existing east-side handrail and fencing system on Bridge 106.2. The goal of this project is to eliminate clearance conflicts and remove existing operational restrictions, ensuring safety and compliance with operational standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to remove, modify, fabricate, and reinstall handrail and fencing components as described in the plans and contract documents. Specific tasks include: 1. Repairing and modifying a 6 ft chain-link fence located off the Northeast handrail. 2. Removing conflicting posts, replacing and relocating them as necessary. 3. Coordinating all work activities with ARRC personnel for operational support. 4. Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations during construction.

Period of Performance

The project is expected to start in 2026 with substantial completion by November 15th, 2026, and final completion by December 15th, 2026. Work may be required on weekends or nights due to scheduling constraints.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Bridge 106.2 located near O’Malley Road in Anchorage, Alaska.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must acknowledge receipt of all issued addenda in their proposal/bid submittal. An Alaska Business license is not a prerequisite to bid; however, bidders who possess an Alaska Business license will receive a preference per the 'Alaska bidder preference'. Bidders must also comply with ARRC's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program.
