Liquid Calcium Chloride

Background

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking competitive bids for the supply of Liquid Calcium Chloride for the FY2027 winter season. The goal of this contract is to ensure adequate supplies for ice and snow removal during winter months, adhering to the procedures established in Iowa Administrative Code 761--20.

Work Details

The contractor will provide Liquid Calcium Chloride in various quantities across multiple district garages. The estimated quantities include: - 1,000 gallons for Des Moines North Garage - 10,000 gallons for Grimes Garage - 1,000 gallons for Perry Garage - 5,000 gallons for Osceola Garage - Additional quantities for other garages including Albia, Martensdale, Bloomfield, Williamsburg, Marion, Tipton, and Anamosa. Deliveries will be made F.O.B Destination as needed throughout the contract period with no guaranteed minimum purchases.

Period of Performance

The contract will begin on July 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2027. There is an option to renew the contract for five additional years in twelve-month increments.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to various district garages located in Des Moines, Grimes, Bouton, Osceola, Albia, Martensdale, Bloomfield, Williamsburg, Marion, Tipton, and Anamosa in Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must certify that they have read and accepted all terms of the bid. The successful contractor will be required to maintain specified insurance coverage. Additionally, bidders must include Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) with their bids.
