Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1) Remove one very large Cypress tree and all associated debris off-site (including wood, brush, chips, and slash). 2) Grind the entire stump to a minimum depth of 12 inches below grade and beyond the root flair. 3) Remove all stump grindings off-site and backfill with clean soil, tamping it down appropriately. 4) Follow specific entry and exit routes determined for this project. 5) Implement turf pads as recommended, including live irrigation considerations around the tree area (ball field). Additionally, the contractor must hire a biologist to monitor for nesting birds prior to commencing work during nesting season.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed within 50 calendar days from the notice to proceed until substantial completion, followed by an additional 10 calendar days until final completion.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a current California State License Board Class 'D-49' Contractors License and ISA Arborist Certification. They must not be debarred from performing public work under any jurisdiction. All bidders are required to be Certified City Suppliers with an updated City Supplier File and a current Business Tax Certificate. Attendance at one of the mandatory pre-quote walkthrough meetings is also required.
