Background The Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar is seeking to procure various brand name or equal pyrotechnics to support the MCAS Air Show. This requirement is managed by the Portfolio Acquisitions Executive Marine Corps (PAE MC), Program Manager, Combat Support Systems (CSS), and Program Manager Ammunition (PdM AMMO). The goal of this contract is to ensure the availability of necessary pyrotechnic products for the successful execution of the air show. Work Details The contract includes the following Contract Line-Item Numbers (CLINs) for pyrotechnics: - **CLIN 0001**: Boosters, without detonators - Units of approximately 1 lb each: **1,000 EA** - Up to 1 year storage life - **CLIN 0002**: Boosters, without detonators - Units of approximately 2 lb each: **75 EA** - Up to 1 year storage life - **CLIN 0003**: Detonator Assembly, Non-Electric - 50 Millisecond Delays: **750 EA** - 20’ Length Per Unit - Up to 6 months storage life - **CLIN 0004**: Detonator Assembly, Non-Electric - 300 Millisecond Delay: **75 EA** - 20’ Length Per Unit - Up to 6 months storage life - **CLIN 0005**: Detonator Assembly, Non-Electric - 500 Millisecond Delays: **800 EA** - 20’ Length Per Unit - Up to 6 months storage life - **CLIN 0006**: Detonator, Electric - 0 Delay Period: **125 EA** - 10’ Lead Wires - Up to 6 months storage life - **CLIN 0007**: Cord, Detonating - Specification: **50 grain/ft**, **1000 ft per roll**, up to **5 years storage life**. Period of Performance All items shall be delivered no later than September 4, 2026. Place of Performance Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, CA. Bidder Requirements Quoters must be registered. Bidders are required to include a Products and Commercial Services—Alternate I (OCT 2025) with their quotation. There are no specific manufacturer or reseller authorizations mentioned; however, compliance with applicable clauses and regulations is expected. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent based on prior awards for Miramar Airshow pyrotechnics to Tripwire South, including contract M6785424P5008 (award value $85,616; 06/28/24–08/01/24) for “MIRAMAR AIRSHOW PYROTECHNICS” and contract M6785425P5212 (award value $96,137; 08/01/25–09/05/25) for “PYROTECHNICS: CORD, DETONATING BRAND: ELECTRIC MS.” The current requirement similarly calls for brand-name or equal pyrotechnic components (e.g., detonating cord and detonator assemblies/electric detonators) to support the MCAS Miramar Air Show, suggesting continuity in product type and event-specific support.
