Background

Fairmont State University (FSU), established in 1865 and located in Fairmont, West Virginia, is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for HVAC upgrades at the Falcon Center, Feaster Center, and Hunt Haught Hall. The university aims to enhance its facilities as part of its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for its approximately 3,700 students. This project is part of FSU's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve campus infrastructure within the state's high technology corridor.

Work Details

The scope of work includes the following HVAC upgrades:

At Falcon Center

Replacement of 12 packaged rooftop units, 8 grease hood supply and exhaust units, 4 exhaust fans, and 1 pool dehumidification unit. Additionally, the ATC automation server will be replaced and existing controls integrated into the new system.

At Feaster Center

Replacement of 1 heating-only rooftop unit.

At Hunt Haught Hall

Replacement of 1 indoor air handling unit along with its associated condensing unit located on the ground floor, and replacement of 5 roof-mounted exhaust fans.

Period of Performance

The contractor is expected to achieve substantial completion within 280 consecutive calendar days from the issuance of FSU’s Notice to Proceed and final completion within 311 consecutive calendar days.

Place of Performance

All work will take place at Fairmont State University, located in Marion County, West Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid West Virginia contractor's license as required by state law. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Bid Guaranty with their bid. The successful bidder must also provide a list of subcontractors who will perform more than $25,000 worth of work on the project within one business day after bid opening.
